PURPOSE:
This position will be responsible for maintaining existing and developing future business with contractors specializing in traffic control within the Western territories including a focus on Southern California. Will lead a support team to achieve sales goals. Maintain knowledge of market conditions and competitors' activities to develop sales plans that achieve or exceed sales goals. Implements an account development plan that optimizes revenue growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction/loyalty. Initiates/builds and maintains long-term relationships with the appropriate contractor decision makers. Participates in client presentations articulating the value proposition of product/ solution/service offerings. Supports the handling of customer complaints and equipment problems.
DUTIES:
- Identify, develop and maintain customer relationships with current and prospective traffic control contracting customers.
- Lead the process ofidentifying, forecasting, and developing electrical construction opportunities that meet company’s minimum standards.
- Direct a team responsible for estimating and quoting projects to contractors.
- Ensure the delivery ofaccurate project information and documents.
- Oversee the tracking ofall projects that are designated for bidding or presentation and the updating of project information onan on-going basis.
- Ensure that the project groups are engaged in the sales and bidding process, and that strong communication with internal parties and with external customers is maintained throughout the bid phase of each project.
- Continue to strengthen and improve customer relationships, and track progress on a monthly basis.
- Attend industry association meetings as a means of networking with the customer base and other industry professionals.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal customers, the project groups.
- Position to be located in Orange or Los Angeles County.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and/or other related field experience.
- 5+ years of experience in technical sales in the construction industry selling to electrical or construction contractors and consultants in the transportation industry.
- Experience with products such as traffic controllers, cabinets, signals, systems, conduit, poles, signs, etc. is preferred.
