PURPOSE:
The Chief Information Officer will be a key member of Econolite Group, Inc. (EGI) with the primary responsibility of driving the Company’s information technology strategic plan. Specifically, this individual will report to the Chief Financial Officer and partner with the rest of the Senior Staff to:
- Define the major lines of IT services and support
- Develop metrics to measure department performance
- Define financial commitment to achieve the vision of IT
- Develop a roadmap to be used to track EGI progress to achieve said vision
In addition, the CIO provides leadership internally to grow organizational capability and effectiveness, and externally to enhance the EGI reputation and standing in the industries we serve.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Direct and manage computing and information technology strategic plans, policies, programs and schedules for business and finance data processing, computer services, network communications, and management information services to accomplish corporate goals and objectives.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
- Develop strategic plans and implement the objectives of the information technology needs of the company to ensure the technology capabilities are responsive in order to achieve EGI’s BAG (Big Audacious Goal)
- Review and approve major contracts based upon appropriate evaluation of return on investment
- Ensure the security of the information system and provide for appropriate back-up and disaster recovery procedures
- Establish company infrastructure to support and guide individual divisions/departments/sites in computing and information technology efforts
- Provide leadership to and support of planning and policy-making committees
- Explore new technologies for future planning and potential implementation to achieve the vision of IT
- Interface with industry on information management and information technology matters
- Develop department annual budgets and administer funds according to approved amounts
BUSINESS TRAVEL:
- Ability to travel to remote offices throughout North America
MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS:
The CIO will be an independent thinker who can make convincing, information-based arguments. With a strong bias for action, this individual will demonstrate both high IQ and high EI (Emotional Intelligence) and be able to work equally well with all internal departments and Senior Staff. The Chief Information Officer will be highly motivated to develop personally, professionally, and to develop the capabilities of the organization resulting in concrete value for consumers, partners, shareholders, and employees. S/he will be a hands-on, detailed-oriented individual with a curious mind.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science/Business Management or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ten years+ management experience in a complex business information systems environment
- Leadership capabilities and strong interpersonal skills, administrative capabilities and executive presence with proactive skills in strategic planning, team building, problem solving and project management
- Extensive knowledge of systems analysis
- Prior experience in managing employee productivity to achieve effective results
- Expertise with hardware, software applications, systems and network administration, and telecommunications
- High level of energy, enthusiasm, and ethics
- Integrity above reproach
