Econolite delivered the full installation, supporting safer signal operations and integration with Centracs® ATMS, advanced controllers, and intelligent sensors.
Project Background
The city needed a stronger communications backbone for its traffic signal system. Limited infrastructure slowed response times and made central management harder. Therefore, Arcadia partnered with Econolite to install a high-quality fiber network. This network supports current traffic operations and future ITS, adaptive control, and connected vehicle technologies.
Network Installation and Integration
Econolite completed the installation with:
- Labor, equipment, materials, and tools for fiber deployment
- Fabric inner ducting and tracer wire placement
- Underground Single Mode Fiber Optic (SMFO) dielectric waterproof cable
- Fiber splicing, connector panels, and termination units
- Fiber panel housings, power systems, and Ethernet switches
All indoor and underground fiber, connectors, patch panels, splice trays, and closures were tested thoroughly. The certified ISO‑9001 SMFO cable ensures long-lasting reliability and scalability for future expansions.
