Econolite acquires RAI Products to strengthen its presence in the Southeast. The acquisition broadens the One-Stop-Shop portfolio of transportation solutions.

Econolite acquires RAI Products (RAI) through the purchase of its operational business in Charlotte, NC. This strategic move enables Econolite to further expand its One-Stop-Shop portfolio of ITS solutions. Furthermore, it strengthens vendor relations and distribution reach throughout the Southeast region.

Why Econolite Acquires RAI Products

“It was exciting when we established our partnership with RAI as an Econolite distributor back in 2011,” said Jim Madden, Econolite’s Vice President, Eastern Sales. “I am equally excited about this expanded relationship and the opportunity to leverage our joint resources in delivering continued high-quality traffic management technologies and services to our customers.”

Founders established RAI in 1954, and the company has demonstrated continued growth for 70 years. Currently, the team serves the transportation management industry throughout the Southeastern United States. This organization remains one of the largest stocking distributors of traffic signal equipment in the industry. Additionally, RAI maintains an impeccable reputation for the on-time delivery of ITS software and hardware.

Commitment to Sustainable Mobility

“RAI has served traffic management communities throughout the Southeast,” said John Rosenblatt, President of RAI. “This acquisition represents our steadfast commitment to sustainable mobility by providing the industry with the best traffic control technologies.” Consequently, this partnership ensures that municipalities and contractors continue to receive second-to-none customer support.
