This system delivers superior traffic detection, accuracy, and reliability. A key feature includes a built-in 1080p camera with low-light sensitivity for visual validation.
Advanced Sensor Technology
“The EPIQ RADAR sensor brings in cutting-edge FMCW technology with a 110-degree field of view,” said Sunny Chakravarty, Econolite’s Vice President, Engineering. Because it offers up to 900 feet of detection, agencies only need two sensors to fully cover most intersections. Specifically, it is ideally suited to address diverse intersection geometries. Consequently, it supports dynamic traffic control programs to help reduce travel times and traffic congestion.
Reliability and Classification
Furthermore, this radar detection solution is capable of tracking and classifying 128 objects simultaneously. With its powerful features, EPIQ RADAR provides lane-by-lane classification, vehicle counts, and travel ETA data. It supports the detection needs for stop bar, advance, departure, bicycles, and pedestrians. Therefore, it enables safety-critical applications like the mitigation of dilemma zones and red-light running.
The system consists of two key components: the sensor with its built-in HD camera and the EPIQ RADAR Hub. The new Hub provides powerful processing and seamless integration within the traffic cabinet. It features an easy-to-use design and an LCD touchscreen display for status monitoring. Additionally, the system includes an intuitive web interface and remote access management.
