Strategic technology leadership strengthens Econolite’s mission to improve safety and mobility outcomes as we appoint a new Chief Technology Officer. Specifically, this leadership change will unify our engineering and product management teams to accelerate global innovation.
Anaheim, CA, February 17, 2026 – Econolite Group announced the appointment of Hans M. Molin as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Umovity ITS by Econolite. Reporting directly to Spiro Gjorgjievski, Econolite CEO, Umovity ITS, Molin will lead Econolite’s technology strategy and execution, unifying Product Management, Engineering, Systems Software and Support functions in support of strengthening and accelerating Econolite’s mobility innovations. In this role, Molin will drive the development of solutions that make transformative improvements to public safety and mobility.
“I’m excited that Hans joins us at a pivotal time as we scale Umovity ITS and strengthen our goal of saving lives and improving quality of life,” said Gjorgjievski. “At the heart of what we do here is the guiding principle of ensuring people arrive to their destination safely and on time. Every advancement in sensors, traffic signal control, and connected mobility capabilities directly translates to lives protected and time reclaimed by families and communities.”
Strengthening the Executive Team
Molin brings comprehensive experience in building and integrating cutting-edge technologies across the automotive, commercial vehicle, and intelligent mobility sectors. Because he has a proven track record in developing and commercializing cloud and AI platform systems, he is the ideal Chief Technology Officer to further differentiate Econolite’s Umovity ITS offerings. Consequently, his leadership will support multi-market growth and technical excellence.
“Hans’ leadership will accelerate the development of solutions that go beyond technology for its own sake. Rather solutions that deliver meaningful outcomes that matter most to our customers and the communities they serve – from creating safer intersections to reducing congestion, and improving the reliability of transit and emergency response,” added Gjorgjievski.
Professional Background
Prior to joining Econolite, Molin served as Chief Technology Officer at Rand McNally, where he led global product and technology teams responsible for hardware, firmware, cloud services, data platforms, AI implementations, and SaaS application development. Molin also held key leadership roles at Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC, including Director of Connectivity and Director of Driver Assistance and Automated Driving.
At Iteris, Inc., he oversaw product, engineering, and marketing functions and spearheaded the creation of SafetyDirect, the first fully OEM‑certified end‑to‑end safety data communications system for commercial fleets – now a cornerstone of Rand McNally’s vehicle safety offering. He began his career in engineering and program management at Volvo Car Group and Volvo Cars of North America, LLC.
Academic Excellence
Molin earned his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (Control Engineering and Business Management) degree from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden.
