ATLANTA, GA – Centracs MMS Integration
Econolite Systems was selected to deploy the Centracs Maintenance Management System (MMS) for the Midtown Atlanta traffic operations program. This solution tracks ITS device inventory and records maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities.
Project Background
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) outsources traffic signal operations and maintenance throughout the Atlanta metropolitan area. As part of the Midtown Traffic Operations Program (MTOP), nearly 100 intersections are monitored and managed to maintain reliable traffic operations.
Centracs MMS Solution Overview
Econolite deployed the Centracs MMS to help the lead contractor, Jacobs Engineering, track all ITS inventory and maintenance workflows. The system consolidates corrective and preventative maintenance records for field devices. Additionally, Econolite provided training for staff from Jacobs, subconsultants, the city, and GDOT personnel.
Key Benefits of the MMS Integration
- Centralized asset tracking across all monitored intersections
- Real-time maintenance and repair logging
- Improved preventative maintenance oversight
- Training and support for operational staff
This MMS deployment increases transparency and helps Atlanta traffic engineers plan maintenance activities more effectively, reducing downtime and improving overall traffic system performance.
